Midlands Summer Show and Recursion Computer Science Fair, 2015

Soft Rock Software will be attending the Midlands User Group’s RISC OS Summer Show, which this year will form part of the Recursion Computer Science Fair, 2015.

The event will take place on Saturday, 4th July, with doors open to the public from 11:00am until 4:00pm, at:

King Edward Vi School,

Church Street,

Stratford-upon-Avon,

Warwickshire,

CV37 6HB

RiscPiC® cases for the Raspberry Pi will be available to purchase in the form of the mini version – and while these are still the original batch, which are not compatible ‘out of the box’ with the B+ and version 2 boards, the fault has been identified and the fix is quite easy; watch this space for instructions if you already have a RiscPiC-mini case!

You’ll be able to discuss and see demonstrations of software such as WebChange – which is free to download – and Soft Rock Software’s range of budget games from 1989-1994 will also be available to play, both on a Windows laptop running VirtualRiscPC, and on a Raspberry Pi.

Beyond Soft Rock Software and the other RISC OS exhibitors, there will be plenty to see and do at this event – which is run with an emphasis on education, so there are lots of things planned to occupy and inspire younger visitors, such as a Robot Wars event, and a competition to write a game in Scratch. There will also be dedicated Amiga and Retro areas, and much more.

See you there!
